How Pentair makes money

Pentair makes money mainly by selling pumps, filtration and treatment systems, and pool equipment under many brands to residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural customers. It also earns service revenue from installing and maintaining water systems for commercial operators.

What Pentair does

Pentair plc is a water solutions company that operates in three segments. Flow makes pumps, membrane filtration, separation systems, valves and agricultural spray nozzles for industrial, municipal and agricultural uses, under brands such as Aurora, Berkeley, Myers, Hypro, Jung Pumpen and X-Flow. Water Solutions sells residential and commercial water treatment products, including control valves, pressure tanks, filtration and softening systems and Manitowoc commercial ice machines. It also installs and services water systems for foodservice operators. The Pool segment sells equipment for residential and commercial pools, including pumps, filters, heaters, lights, automation, chlorinators and cleaners, under the Pentair Pool, Kreepy Krauly, Pleatco and Sta-Rite brands. Founded in 1966 and headquartered in London, Pentair sells in the US, Europe, China, Latin America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia and Canada.

What is Pentair worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, Pentair's most-likely value is about $97 versus a recent price near $52 (85% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$49) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $52
Fair value (most likely)

Price

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
