How WisdomTree makes money

WisdomTree earns most of its money from management and advisory fees charged on the assets held in its ETFs. It also collects licensing fees when third parties use its indexes in their own products.

What WisdomTree does

WisdomTree, Inc. is a New York-based exchange-traded fund sponsor and asset manager, founded in 1985. It offers ETFs across equities, fixed income, currency and alternative asset classes. Many of its funds track indexes it builds with its own fundamentally weighted methodology, which weights holdings by business fundamentals rather than market capitalization alone. Most of its revenue comes from advisory fees on the assets in its funds. It also licenses its indexes to third parties for their own products and runs a platform that promotes the use of WisdomTree ETFs in 401(k) retirement plans. That gives it income from both fund management and its index-building work.

What is WisdomTree worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, WisdomTree's most-likely value is about $24 versus a recent price near $23 (6% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$11) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
