How Clear Secure makes money

Most of its revenue comes from CLEAR Plus, a paid consumer subscription for faster airport security lanes. It also earns from B2B identity verification (CLEAR1, Sora ID), TSA PreCheck enrollment and renewals, and add-on services such as Concierge and RESERVE.

What Clear Secure does

Clear Secure, Inc. runs CLEAR, a secure identity platform based mainly in the United States. The platform covers enrollment, verification and linking of a person's identity, plus the back-end systems behind it. Its main consumer product is CLEAR Plus, a subscription that gives members predictable entry lanes at airport security checkpoints. Other travel services include the CLEAR mobile app, RESERVE powered by CLEAR for booking a time slot at the airport, Home to Gate for planning when to leave for the airport, CLEAR Concierge for frequent and premium travelers, families and seniors, CLEAR Perks, and TSA PreCheck enrollment and online renewal. Outside travel, CLEAR1 lets partner businesses use the identity platform to make things easier for their own customers. Sora ID adds one-click know-your-customer (KYC) checks, and the company also offers virtual queuing technology. CLEAR ID is a free mobile digital ID, and a partnership with Samsung created Samsung ID with CLEAR, which lets users add a US passport to Samsung Wallet. The company was founded in 2010, is headquartered in New York, and is a subsidiary of Alclear Investments, LLC.

What is Clear Secure worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, Clear Secure's most-likely value is about $118 versus a recent price near $43 (172% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$34) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $43
Fair value (most likely)

Range

No-growth floor

Price

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
