How Tutor Perini makes money

It earns revenue by winning and carrying out construction contracts as general contractor, construction manager, or design-builder for public agencies and private owners. It also earns fees for specialty trade work and pre-construction planning and project management services.

What Tutor Perini does

Tutor Perini Corporation is a diversified US construction company founded in 1894 and headquartered in Sylmar, California. It provides general contracting, construction management, and design-build services to public agencies and private customers, mainly in the United States with some international work. It changed its name from Perini Corporation in 2009. The company has three segments. Civil handles public works and infrastructure, including highways, bridges, tunnels, mass-transit systems, government and military facilities, and water and wastewater plants, along with foundation and excavation support. Building covers specialized markets such as hospitality and gaming, healthcare, transportation, sports and entertainment, education, correctional facilities, biotech, and technology. Specialty Contractors installs electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems for civil and building projects. The company also does site work, concrete, and steel erection with its own crews.

What is Tutor Perini worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, Tutor Perini's most-likely value is about $116 versus a recent price near $83 (39% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$61) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $83
Fair value (most likely)
$116
Range
$86–$188
No-growth floor
$61
Price
~$83

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
