How Salesforce makes money

Salesforce mainly earns money by selling its cloud software to businesses of all sizes as ongoing services, spanning sales, service, marketing, commerce, data, integration and collaboration products. It adds revenue by selling more products to existing customers, including AI agent capabilities and data management tools.

What Salesforce does

Salesforce, Inc. is a leading provider of customer relationship management (CRM) technology, with software that helps companies connect with their customers across sales, service, marketing and commerce. Founded in 1999 and based in San Francisco, it operates in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific. Its customers include financial services, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, automotive and government organizations, and its Salesforce Starter suite targets small and medium-sized businesses. The company is now centering its products on AI. Agentforce lets businesses build and run autonomous AI agents that work alongside people. Data 360 and Informatica bring together and manage the data those agents depend on, and Slack acts as the shared workspace where people and agents collaborate. It also sells integration, analytics and field service tools.

What is Salesforce worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, Salesforce's most-likely value is about $573 versus a recent price near $229 (150% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$207) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $229
Fair value (most likely)
$573
Range
$351–$1,209
No-growth floor
$207
Price
~$229

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
