How Mueller Industries makes money

It makes money by manufacturing and selling copper, brass, and aluminum products, and by reselling related plumbing goods, to wholesalers, distributors, retailers, and OEMs across its Piping Systems, Industrial Metals, and Climate segments.

What Mueller Industries does

Mueller Industries, founded in 1917 and based in Collierville, Tennessee, makes copper, brass, and aluminum products. It sells in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Asia and the Middle East, and Mexico. The business has three segments. Piping Systems makes copper tubes, fittings, line sets, and pipe nipples, and also resells plumbing goods such as steel pipe, valves, and faucets to plumbing and refrigeration wholesalers, building material retailers, and air-conditioning OEMs. Industrial Metals supplies brass and copper alloy rods, forgings, valves, fluid control solutions, gas train assemblies, specialty tubing, and machined parts for automotive applications. Its customers are OEMs in construction, utility, telecommunication, electrical, and HVAC markets. The Climate segment serves the HVAC and refrigeration markets with valves, protection devices, brass fittings, coaxial heat exchangers, high-pressure components, and flexible duct systems.

What is Mueller Industries worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, Mueller Industries's most-likely value is about $40 versus a recent price near $61 (35% above fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$24) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $61
Fair value (most likely)
$40
Range
$32–$58
No-growth floor

Price

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
