How Legend makes money

It earns revenue mainly from its operating subsidiaries, which sell intelligent devices, IT infrastructure and solutions, banking and financial services, advanced materials, and agricultural and food products. On top of that it earns investment returns from its stakes in PE/VC funds, fund general partners, angel investments and minority holdings.

What Legend does

Legend Holdings Corporation, founded in 1984 and based in Beijing, is a diversified holding company. It reports two broad segments: industrial operations and industrial incubations and investments. Its operating businesses include intelligent devices and infrastructure, intelligent solutions, services and software, integrated banking, and the research, production and sale of advanced materials. It also runs agriculture and food businesses such as seafood trading and processing and salmon production. On the investment side, the company is a limited partner in PE and VC funds, holds interests in fund general partners, and makes angel investments in tech start-ups as well as minority investments in other companies. Smaller activities include aviation logistics, healthcare, car services and software, cold chain, insurance, new energy technologies, real estate investment and office leasing. That makes it a broad play on Chinese technology, finance and consumer sectors rather than a pure hardware company.

What is Legend worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, Legend's most-likely value is about HK$7 versus a recent price near HK$21 (197% above fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~HK$5) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

⚠ High leverage — net debt is 53.3× annual cash flow. Net debt is subtracted from this fair value, but refinancing at higher rates, principal timing, and share dilution aren’t modeled — the equity can be worth far less if cash flow weakens.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
