How Centrus Energy makes money

Most of its revenue comes from selling low-enriched uranium, mainly its separative work units (SWU) and uranium feed, to nuclear utilities. It also earns fees for technical, engineering, and manufacturing services under contracts with public and private sector clients.

What Centrus Energy does

Centrus Energy Corp. is a Bethesda, Maryland-based supplier of nuclear fuel components to the nuclear power industry. It was incorporated in 1998 as USEC Inc. and took the Centrus name in September 2014. Its customers are mainly utilities that operate nuclear power plants in the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, and other markets. The company reports two segments. The Low-Enriched Uranium segment sells the separative work unit (SWU) component of LEU, natural uranium hexafluoride, uranium concentrates, conversion, and enriched uranium products. The Technical Solutions segment provides technical, manufacturing, engineering, and operations services to public and private sector customers.

What is Centrus Energy worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, Centrus Energy's most-likely value is about $82 versus a recent price near $142 (42% above fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$30) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $142
Fair value (most likely)

Range

No-growth floor

Price

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
