What Workday does
Workday, Inc. builds cloud applications for enterprise finance and HR. On the finance side it covers accounting, payables and receivables, financial consolidation, and faster period-end closing, with a focus on internal controls and auditability. It also offers spend management for picking suppliers, managing contracts and running sourcing events such as requests for proposals, plus tools for submitting and approving expenses and for planning. Its human capital management suite helps HR teams hire, onboard, pay, develop and reskill employees. Workday also has specialized products: supply chain and inventory tools for healthcare, student and faculty lifecycle management for education, and Workday Extend, which lets customers build their own custom applications. It sells directly to customers in professional services, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, education, government, technology, media, retail and hospitality. What is Workday worth?
On an owner-earnings DCF, Workday's most-likely value is about $441 versus a recent price near $187 (136% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$133) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.
Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.
Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
