How Resmed makes money
ResMed earns most of its money selling sleep and breathing devices, including diagnostic recorders and connected therapy and ventilation equipment. Its Residential Care Software segment brings in software-as-a-service, billing, coding and analytics revenue from care providers.
What Resmed does
ResMed Inc., founded in 1989 and based in San Diego, makes cloud-connected medical devices and software. It reports two segments, Sleep and Breathing Health and Residential Care Software. On the sleep side it sells diagnostic devices such as ApneaLink Air, a portable recorder, and NightOwl, a disposable cloud-connected home test. It also offers EasyCare Tx for sleep labs. Its AirView platform lets clinicians monitor patients and change device settings remotely, and the myAir app gives patients coaching and troubleshooting to help them stay on therapy. The software segment serves care outside the hospital. Brightree covers home medical equipment, pharmacy, orthotics and prosthetics, and home infusion. HEALTHCAREfirst provides records, billing and analytics for home health and hospice agencies. MatrixCare supplies EHR software to skilled nursing and senior living providers, and MEDIFOX DAN serves residential care providers. Together, these connect ResMed's devices to a wider digital health system for patients treated at home.

What is Resmed worth?
On an owner-earnings DCF, Resmed's most-likely value is about $324 versus a recent price near $230 (41% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$128) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.
Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.
Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
