How Permian Resources makes money

The company develops oil and gas reserves on its acreage and makes money by selling the crude oil, natural gas liquids, and natural gas it produces. Its revenue therefore moves with production volumes and commodity prices.

What Permian Resources does

Permian Resources Corporation is an independent U.S. oil and natural gas company that develops crude oil and liquids-rich natural gas reserves. It concentrates on the Delaware Basin, a sub-basin of the Permian Basin, with acreage blocks in Reeves County, West Texas, and Lea County, New Mexico. The company was incorporated in 2015 as Centennial Resource Development and renamed itself Permian Resources in September 2022. It is headquartered in Midland, Texas. Because it is a pure upstream producer, its results depend mainly on how much oil and gas it produces and on oil and gas prices.

What is Permian Resources worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, Permian Resources's most-likely value is about $28 versus a recent price near $23 (21% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$18) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $23
Fair value (most likely)

Range

Price

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
