How ONEOK makes money

ONEOK earns fees for gathering, processing, fractionating, transporting, storing, and exporting hydrocarbons through its pipeline and facility network, including regulated interstate and intrastate gas transmission. It also makes money from commodity-related activities such as liquids blending and marketing.

What ONEOK does

ONEOK, Inc. is a Tulsa, Oklahoma-based midstream energy company founded in 1906. It provides gathering, processing, fractionation, transportation, storage, and marine export services across four segments: Natural Gas Gathering and Processing, Natural Gas Liquids, Natural Gas Pipelines, and Refined Products and Crude. Its processing plants and gathering systems sit in major producing areas, including the Mid-Continent, Permian Basin, North Texas, Gulf Coast, and Rocky Mountain regions. The company links upstream producers with end users. It moves raw gas from the wellhead to processing, separates NGLs into purity products, and transports natural gas, refined fuels such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, and crude oil through regulated and unregulated pipelines. Its customers include exploration and production companies, utilities, industrial users, propane distributors, municipalities, petrochemical companies, refiners, and exporters. Revenue comes mainly from fees for these services, with some additional income from blending and marketing activities.

What is ONEOK worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, ONEOK's most-likely value is about $47 versus a recent price near $90 (47% above fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$31) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $90
Fair value (most likely)

Range
$39–$62
No-growth floor

Price

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

⚠ High leverage — net debt is 11.3× annual cash flow. Net debt is subtracted from this fair value, but refinancing at higher rates, principal timing, and share dilution aren’t modeled — the equity can be worth far less if cash flow weakens.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
