How Nordson makes money

It sells dispensing, coating, and inspection equipment to manufacturers, and also sells the components and consumables used with them, such as nozzles, pumps, filters, syringes, tips, and medical consumables. Sales go through its own direct sales force, distributors, and sales representatives.

What Nordson does

Nordson Corporation, founded in 1909 and headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, makes equipment that dispenses, applies, and controls adhesives, coatings, polymers, sealants, biomaterials, and other fluids. It has three segments. Industrial Precision Solutions supplies adhesive dispensing, coating, and laminating systems for disposable products and roll goods, polymer melt-stream components, fluid components such as nozzles, pumps, and filters, and powder coating, liquid finishing, container coating, and UV equipment. Medical and Fluid Solutions makes precision dispensers, molded syringes, cartridges, and tips, as well as interventional medical products such as engineered shafts, medical tubing, balloons, nitinol devices, and cardiovascular cannulas. Advanced Technology Solutions serves electronics makers with high-speed automated dispensing, gas plasma treatment, and test and inspection tools, including bond testers and optical, acoustic, and X-ray inspection systems used in the semiconductor and printed circuit board industries.

What is Nordson worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, Nordson's most-likely value is about $250 versus a recent price near $328 (24% above fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$125) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $328
Fair value (most likely)
$250
Range
$189–$362
No-growth floor
$125
Price
~$328

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
