How KE makes money

It earns commissions and service fees on existing and new home transactions, plus revenue from home renovation and furnishing projects, rental property management, and transaction services such as contracts, secure payment, and escrow.

What KE does

KE Holdings Inc., founded in 2001 and based in Beijing, runs Beike, an integrated online and offline platform for housing transactions and services in China. Its brands include Lianjia, a real estate brokerage, and Deyou, a brand for connected brokerage stores. It also runs the Agent Cooperation Network, an operating system that lets agents and service providers work together on deals. The company reports five segments: existing home transactions, new home transactions, home renovation and furnishing, home rental services, and emerging and other services. Beyond brokerage, it provides rental property management and transaction support such as contracts, secure payment, and escrow, so it covers most of the home buying, renting, and moving process.
