How Hexcel makes money

Hexcel earns revenue by selling composite materials and engineered aircraft structures to commercial aerospace, defense and space, and industrial customers. It sells through its own sales teams and independent distributors in the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, India and Africa.

What Hexcel does

Hexcel Corporation, founded in 1946 and headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, makes advanced lightweight composites. It reports two segments. Composite Materials makes carbon fibers, fabrics, multi-axials, prepregs and other fiber-reinforced matrix materials, as well as structural adhesives, honeycomb, molding compounds, tooling materials, polyurethane systems and laminates. These go into military aircraft, transportation, recreational products and industrial uses. Engineered Products turns these materials into aircraft structures and finished components. These include wing-to-body fairings, wing panels, flight deck panels, door liners and rotorcraft blades, plus sub-components for engine nacelles, flaps and elevators. The segment also makes RF interference control products, dielectric absorber foams, magnetic absorbers and thermoplastics. Its main end markets are commercial aerospace, defense and space, and industrial.

What is Hexcel worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, Hexcel's most-likely value is about $92 versus a recent price near $85 (8% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$39) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $85
Fair value (most likely)
$92
Range
$63–$146
No-growth floor
$39
Price
~$85

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
