What Gentex does
Gentex Corporation, founded in 1974 and headquartered in Zeeland, Michigan, is an auto parts supplier best known for electrochromic rearview mirrors that dim automatically, both inside and outside the car. Its Automotive Products segment also sells automotive electronics, non-dimming mirrors and HomeLink modules to carmakers, suppliers and aftermarket customers for cars, trucks, SUVs and vans. Outside autos, Gentex applies its dimming technology to aircraft windows and sells fire protection products such as smoke and CO alarms and signaling devices through distributors, wholesalers and OEMs. It also has an Audio Products segment, medical devices, eSight smart glasses for people with low vision, biometric access control products, and nanofiber chemical-sensing research. It operates in the US, China, Germany, Japan, Mexico, South Korea and other markets.

What is Gentex worth?
On an owner-earnings DCF, Gentex's most-likely value is about $35 versus a recent price near $21 (66% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$20) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.
Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.
Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
