How ESCO Technologies makes money

It earns revenue by designing, manufacturing and selling engineered components, test equipment and turnkey test facilities to aerospace, defense, utility and industrial customers, plus calibration and testing services. Sales go through direct sales teams, in-house staff, distributors and sales representatives.

What ESCO Technologies does

ESCO Technologies, based in St. Louis, Missouri, and incorporated in 1990, supplies engineered components and systems to aviation, navy, defense and industrial customers. It has three segments. Aerospace & Defense makes specialty hydraulic filtration and fluid control products, miniature electro-explosive devices for ejection seats and missile arming, precision bushings and machined parts for landing gear, rotor heads and flight controls, and signature reduction and power management solutions for U.S. naval vessels. Utility Solutions Group provides diagnostic testing solutions and decision support tools for renewable energy, mainly wind and solar. RF Test & Measurement designs products and turnkey systems that measure and control radio-frequency energy, including RF test facilities, shielded rooms, acoustic enclosures and secure communication facilities. It also sells absorbers, antennas, field probes, filters and software, and offers calibration and product testing. Together, the segments give ESCO a spread of niche, mission-critical markets.

What is ESCO Technologies worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, ESCO Technologies's most-likely value is about $175 versus a recent price near $258 (32% above fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$69) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $258
Fair value (most likely)
$175
Range
$117–$301
No-growth floor
$69
Price
~$258

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
