How Arcosa makes money

Arcosa earns revenue by selling aggregates, specialty materials and engineered steel structures to contractors, utilities, wind developers, distributors and public agencies, and by selling barges and marine hardware to marine transport companies, lessors and industrial shippers. It also generates revenue from construction site support equipment such as trench shields and shoring products.

What Arcosa does

Arcosa, Inc. is a Dallas-based US infrastructure products company that was incorporated in 2018. It has three segments. Construction Products supplies natural and recycled aggregates, specialty materials, and construction site support equipment such as trench shields and shoring. It serves residential, non-residential and infrastructure construction. Engineered Structures makes utility structures for electricity transmission and distribution, wind towers for wind power generation, traffic and lighting structures for highway construction, and telecommunication structures for wireless networks. Its customers include contractors and distributors that serve state Departments of Transportation and other government agencies. Transportation Products builds inland barges, fiberglass barge covers, winches and marine hardware for marine transportation companies, lessors and industrial shippers. Together, these businesses give Arcosa exposure to construction activity, grid and wind power investment, and inland waterway shipping.

What is Arcosa worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, Arcosa's most-likely value is about $100 versus a recent price near $147 (32% above fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$48) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

⚠ Capital-intensive — this business reinvests heavily, so free cash flow runs well below its earnings. Fair value here is built on free cash flow, which understates owner earnings for reinvestment-heavy companies — read it as conservative.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
