What Acuity does
Acuity Inc., which was called Acuity Brands until March 2025, is an Atlanta-based industrial company with two segments. The larger one, Acuity Brands Lighting (ABL), sells a wide range of lighting fixtures and controls under brands such as Lithonia Lighting, Juno, Holophane, Hydrel, Gotham, Peerless, nLight and SensorSwitch. It reaches customers through electrical distributors, consumer retailers, large corporate accounts and OEMs. The Acuity Intelligent Spaces (AIS) segment goes beyond lighting to technology that runs whole buildings. Its Distech Controls building management systems control HVAC, lighting, shades, refrigeration and building access, and its Q-SYS platform and QSC Audio products provide audio, video and control for venues, campuses, airports, hospitality and live entertainment. AIS sells mainly through system integrators under the Atrius, Distech Controls, QSC and KE2 Therm Solutions brands.

What is Acuity worth?
On an owner-earnings DCF, Acuity's most-likely value is about $474 versus a recent price near $298 (59% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$237) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.
Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.
Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
