How ACI Worldwide makes money

It earns money by licensing and supporting payment software for banks and merchants (Payment Software segment). It also charges fees for electronic bill presentment and payment services, such as Speedpay, sold to billers (Billers segment), and it sells installation, customization, consulting, and training services.

What ACI Worldwide does

ACI Worldwide, founded in 1975 and headquartered in Elkhorn, Nebraska, builds the software that handles electronic payments for financial institutions, merchants, and billers in the U.S. and worldwide. It was formerly called Transaction Systems Architects and took its current name in 2007. Its Payment Software segment covers card acquiring and issuing (ACI Acquiring, ACI Issuing), multi-payment-type processing (ACI Connetic), real-time and RTGS/cross-border payment engines, digital central infrastructure, a payments orchestration platform, and fraud management and scoring tools. The Billers segment centers on Speedpay and electronic bill presentment and payment services. Its customers span utilities, insurance, healthcare, higher education, government, telecom, mortgage, consumer finance, and subscription businesses. ACI also earns revenue from installation, custom modifications, consulting, support, and training, and it resells some third-party software. It has a strategic partnership with dLocal.

What is ACI Worldwide worth?

On an owner-earnings DCF, ACI Worldwide's most-likely value is about $65 versus a recent price near $51 (27% below fair value). But TacticScale only calls a stock undervalued when the price sits below its conservative no-growth floor (~$31) with a margin of safety — so the honest verdict here is “Fairly priced — no edge.” Fair value earns its keep only at the extremes, not in the wide middle.

Verdict: Fairly priced — no edge
Owner-earnings fair value · recent price ≈ $51
Fair value (most likely)

Range

No-growth floor

Price

Price sits in the normal range — fair value isn't actionable here; it earns its keep only when price drops below the no-growth floor, or runs to roughly double the optimistic case.

Analysis, not advice. Fair value is a margin-of-safety estimate from a deterministic owner-earnings DCF, not a price target or recommendation. See the full breakdown →
