Zangge Mining Company Limited

Chinese producer of potash fertilizer and battery-grade lithium carbonate

Understand Zangge Mining →

What Zangge Mining does

Zangge Mining extracts minerals from salt lakes and mines in western China, mainly producing potassium chloride — the potash used to make crop fertilizer — and lithium carbonate, a key raw material for electric-vehicle and electronics batteries. It also develops its own lithium extraction technology and operates copper, silver, and molybdenum mining projects. Founded in 1996 and based in Golmud, the company sells at home in China and exports overseas.

How Zangge Mining makes money

It makes money by selling the potassium chloride and lithium carbonate it produces to agricultural and battery-materials customers in China and abroad, with pricing tied to commodity markets. Additional revenue comes from mineral resource development, trading and import/export activities, and investment holdings in mining assets.
