What XJ Electric does

XJ Electric builds the equipment that moves electricity from power plants to homes and factories across China. Its specialty is high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission gear — converter valves, control and protection systems, and converter stations — that carries power efficiently over very long distances. It also makes smart electricity meters, medium-voltage switchgear and substations, EV charging and battery-swap equipment, and builds renewable energy, storage and hydrogen projects as a contractor.

How XJ Electric makes money

It sells power transmission, distribution and metering hardware largely to State Grid and other utilities through competitive bidding and long-term supply contracts, with revenue tied to national grid investment cycles. It supplements equipment sales with engineering design, system integration and EPC contracting for new energy, storage and hydrogen projects, plus contract manufacturing of cabinets and enclosures.
