Weyerhaeuser owns or controls more than 10 million acres of forests in the U.S. and manages more public forest land in Canada under long-term licenses. It grows and harvests trees sustainably and turns the wood into building products. It also runs smaller businesses in product distribution, climate solutions, real estate, and energy and natural resources.

How Weyerhaeuser makes money

It makes money by selling timber harvested from its own forests and by making and selling wood products across North America. Distribution, climate solutions, real estate, and energy and natural resources add more income, and as a REIT it pays out much of its earnings to shareholders.
