Weichai Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd.

Chinese maker of marine and power-generation diesel engines

What Weichai Heavy Machinery does

Weichai Heavy Machinery builds medium- and high-speed diesel engines that power ships and generate electricity. Its engines drive ocean-going, offshore and inland vessels, while its generator sets supply backup and primary power to hospitals, telecom sites, oil fields, railways and military users. The company also casts and machines the engine parts that go into these systems.

How Weichai Heavy Machinery makes money

It sells diesel engines, propulsion systems and generator sets to shipbuilders, shipowners and power equipment buyers in China, plus components and castings to other manufacturers. Recurring revenue comes from spare parts and after-sales service across marine and power-generation fleets.
