Simon Property Group owns, develops and manages large shopping, dining, entertainment and mixed-use destinations, mainly malls and Premium Outlets. At the end of 2024 it owned or had an interest in 229 properties across North America, Asia and Europe. It also owns large stakes in The Taubman Realty Group and Paris-based Klepierre.

How Simon Property makes money

As a retail REIT, it makes money mainly by renting space in its malls, outlets and mixed-use properties to retailers and other tenants. It also earns from the property companies it partly owns, TRG and Klepierre.
