What Ormat does

Ormat builds and runs power plants that make electricity from underground heat (geothermal), waste heat from industry, and solar, then sells that power. It also manufactures and sells the equipment for these plants to other companies. It also operates large battery facilities that store electricity and support the power grid.

How Ormat makes money

Most revenue comes from selling electricity from its own geothermal, solar and recovered-energy plants. It also earns money selling power-generation equipment and construction services to third parties, and charging for capacity, energy and grid services from its battery storage facilities.
