IDACORP, Inc.
Regulated electric utility serving southern Idaho and eastern Oregon
Understand IDACORP →What IDACORP does
IDACORP owns Idaho Power, which generates electricity and delivers it to about 664,000 homes and businesses in southern Idaho and eastern Oregon. Most of its power comes from 17 hydroelectric dams on regional rivers. Natural gas plants, stakes in coal plants in Wyoming and Nevada, and battery storage add to that supply.
How IDACORP makes money
It earns regulated revenue by selling electricity to retail residential, commercial and industrial customers at rates approved by state regulators, recovering costs and earning a return on its power plants, transmission and distribution grid. A smaller amount of income comes from investments in housing and real estate tax credits.
