HCIG Energy Investment Co., Ltd.
Chinese state-backed power producer running coal, solar and nuclear assets
Understand HCIG Energy Investment →What HCIG Energy Investment does
HCIG Energy Investment builds, owns and runs power plants across China, with most of its electricity coming from coal-fired stations that also supply district heating to nearby cities. It adds cleaner sources on top of that base, holding stakes in nuclear plants and operating solar, wind and hydro capacity. In total it controls about 12,476.5 MW of installed capacity, of which roughly 11,770 MW is thermal and 706.5 MW is solar.
How HCIG Energy Investment makes money
It earns revenue by selling electricity to the grid and heat to municipal users under regulated tariffs, with profitability driven by utilization hours, power prices and coal costs. Equity stakes in nuclear and other generation projects add investment income on top of the operating fleet.
