What Contemporary Amperex does

CATL designs and makes rechargeable lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries that power electric cars, buses, trucks, boats and other vehicles. It also builds large battery systems that store electricity for power grids, power plants and end users. It also recycles used batteries to recover metals such as lithium, nickel and cobalt and makes battery materials from them.

How Contemporary Amperex makes money

It earns most of its revenue by selling battery cells, modules and packs to vehicle makers and by selling energy storage systems such as battery cabinets and containers. It also sells battery materials like lithium salts, precursors and cathode materials, including materials recovered from recycled batteries.
