China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd.
China's largest listed hydropower operator, running mega-dams on the Yangtze
Understand China Yangtze Power →What China Yangtze Power does
China Yangtze Power runs some of the world's biggest hydropower dams, including the Three Gorges Dam, on China's Yangtze River system. These dams turn flowing river water into electricity, which is sold into the power grid. The company also has power businesses in Portugal, Peru, Brazil and Pakistan, and is expanding into pumped storage, new energy and electricity sales.
How China Yangtze Power makes money
It mainly earns revenue by selling electricity generated at its large hydropower stations to the grid. Smaller income streams come from power distribution and sales, integrated energy services, investments, and overseas power-station operation, maintenance and consulting.
