China Oilfield Services helps oil and gas companies find and produce oil, mainly offshore. It runs drilling rigs, surveys the seabed to locate reserves, services wells after they are drilled, and operates support ships that tow, supply and carry crew for offshore platforms. It works mostly in China but also in Indonesia, Mexico, Norway and the Middle East.

How China Oilfield Services makes money

It earns fees and day rates from oil and gas producers, including its parent CNOOC, for renting out drilling rigs and vessels and for technical services such as seismic surveys, logging, cementing and well completion.
