What BXP does

BXP develops, owns, and manages high-end office buildings in six major US cities: Boston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC. Its portfolio also includes some retail, residential, and hotel properties, many of them in mixed-use complexes. It is organized as a real estate investment trust (REIT).

How BXP makes money

BXP earns most of its revenue from rent paid by creditworthy tenants that lease its office and mixed-use properties, and it adds value by developing new buildings, including build-to-suit projects. It also provides in-house building management, and part of its portfolio is held through joint ventures.
