Bohai Leasing Co., Ltd.
Chinese lessor of aircraft, containers, and infrastructure equipment
Understand Bohai Leasing →What Bohai Leasing does
Bohai Leasing is a Chinese leasing company that buys big-ticket assets — airplanes, shipping containers, infrastructure and large industrial equipment — and rents them out to businesses that would rather not buy them outright. Airlines, shipping lines and infrastructure operators pay it over time to use the assets. Founded in 1993 and based in Urumqi, it was called Bohai Capital Holding until it renamed itself Bohai Leasing in November 2018.
How Bohai Leasing makes money
It earns lease rentals from customers over multi-year contracts on assets it owns and finances, with profit coming from the spread between rental income and its funding and depreciation costs. It also realizes gains or losses when leased assets are sold or re-leased at the end of a term.
