Getting Started
Welcome to imlore! Here's how to set up your smart home monitoring:
Set Up Camera
Install imlore on an old iPhone. Open the app, tap "Camera", and choose your monitoring mode (baby, elderly, pet, or security).
Position Device
Place the camera device where you want to monitor. Plug it in to keep it charged. The screen stays on while monitoring.
Connect Viewer
On your main phone, open imlore and tap "Viewer". Your camera will appear automatically - tap to connect and start watching.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do both devices need to be on the same WiFi?
No! If both devices are on the same WiFi, you get the fastest connection with minimal delay. If you're away from home, imlore automatically uses iCloud to relay the video - just make sure both devices are signed into the same iCloud account.
Is imlore free?
Yes, imlore is free to download and use. There are no subscriptions or hidden fees. Your video data is stored in your own iCloud storage (included with your Apple ID).
What devices are supported?
imlore works on:
- iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later
- iPad running iPadOS 17.0 or later
Any old iPhone can be a camera - even an iPhone 6s works! Newer devices with Neural Engine (iPhone 11 and later) get faster on-device AI processing.
What are the monitoring modes?
imlore has four specialized modes:
- Baby: Detects crying, movement in crib, and when baby wakes up
- Elderly: Monitors for falls, unusual inactivity, and movement patterns
- Pet: Watches for barking, scratching at doors, and pet activity
- Security: General motion detection and person alerts
What are Scene Labels?
Scene Labels let you mark areas in the camera view (like "crib", "door", or "couch"). This helps the AI give you smarter alerts like "baby climbed out of crib" instead of just "motion detected".
To add labels: Open a camera in Viewer mode, tap the label icon, and draw boxes around important areas.
How do I mute notifications from a camera?
In the camera selection screen, swipe left on any camera to toggle notifications on/off. You can also adjust notification settings in the Viewer settings menu.
Is my data private?
Yes! All your video data is stored in YOUR personal iCloud account. We never see your videos or have access to your camera footage. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How long are events saved?
You control this in the app settings. By default, events are kept for 7 days. You can change this to 1 day, 30 days, 90 days, or keep forever.
Troubleshooting
Camera not appearing in Viewer:
- Make sure both devices are signed into the same iCloud account
- Check that the Camera device is running and showing the camera preview
- Try pulling down to refresh the camera list
- If on different networks, wait a few seconds for iCloud discovery
Video is delayed or choppy:
- For best performance, use the same WiFi network
- Move closer to your WiFi router
- Close other apps using the camera on the Camera device
- If using iCloud relay, some delay (1-2 seconds) is normal
App crashes or freezes:
- Force quit the app and restart
- Restart your device
- Check for app updates in the App Store
